Top Breeder Award 2009
Rules and Regulations

This competition identifies the most consistent breeder of top winning dogs within each breed.
This year, for the first time, we will be including each of the Rare Breeds, plus the Import Breeds winner at qualifying shows.

Points to be awarded as follows:

Breeds with CCs

  • First CC in calendar year won by each dog – 4 points

  • Subsequent CCs in calendar year – 1 point each

Rare Breeds Register
  • First Best of Sex In Breed win by each dog, in calendar year, at a General or Group Championship Show where breed classes are scheduled – 4 points

  • Subsequent Best of Sex In Breed wins, in calendar year, at General or Group Championship Shows where breed classes are scheduled – 1 point each
Import Breeds Register
  • First Best of Sex Import Register (on the day) win, in calendar year, at a General or Group Championship Show by each dog – 4 points
  • Subsequent Best of Sex Import Register (on the day) wins in calendar year at General or Group Championship Shows – 1 point each

At the end of the calendar year the breeder in each relevant breed/category amassing the highest number of points will be declared Top Breeder.

Tie-breaker

In the event of a tie at the end of the competition period, BOBs (or Best Import) wins will be taken into consideration. Should two breeders still tie they will be declared ‘Joint Winners’. However, should more than two breeders tie we must regrettably declare there is ‘no clear leader’ and a ‘Top Breeder’ award will not be made in that breed / category.

Definition of ‘breeder’

The breeder is deemed to be the person, or persons recorded as such on the KC registration certificate. Where an exhibit is bred in partnership any deviation (eg a varying combination of names / partners) will be regarded for the sake of this competition as a different breeder. Points may only be accumulated from different exhibits if the same individual or partnership (ie same combination of names) is applicable to each dog.

Period of Competition

Points are calculated from relevant wins within the calendar year
(1st January – 31st December)

Final Decision

No discussions will be entered into and the decision of the Editor in all circumstances will be final.
