Top Breeder Award
Rules and Regulations

Please take in to account that not all club show results may have been received by the date used to calculate points.
It is in the breeders own interest to check their points after each update and report any differences as soon as possible as catalogues are not always received from some shows.
Points to be awarded as follows:
Breeds with CCs
First CC in calendar year won by each dog = 4 points. Plus 1 extra point if BOB; ie 5 points in total.
Subsequent CCs in calendar year won by each dog = 1 point each. Plus 1 extra point if BOB; ie 2 points in total.
Non CC status breeds
First Best of Sex In Breed win in calendar year by each dog at a General or Group Championship Show where breed classes are scheduled = 4 points. Plus 1 extra point if BOB; ie 5 points in total.
Subsequent Best of Sex in Breed wins in calendar year by each dog at General or Group Championship Shows where breed classes are scheduled = 1 point each. Plus 1 extra point if BOB; ie 2 points in total.
Import breeds register
First Best of Sex Import Register win (on the day) in calendar year by each dog at a General or Group Championship Show where breed classes are scheduled = 4 points. Plus 1 extra point if Best Import; ie 5 points in total.
Subsequent Best of Sex Import Register wins (on the day) in calendar year by each dog at General or Group Championship Shows where breed classes are scheduled = 1 point each. Plus 1 extra point if Best Import; ie 2 points in total.
Final results
At the end of the calendar year the breeder in each relevant breed/ category amassing the highest number of points will be declared Top Breeder.
In the event of a tie
Should two breeders tie they will be declared ‘Joint Winners’.
However, should three or more breeders tie we must regrettably declare ‘no clear leader’ and a ‘Top Breeder’ award will not be made in that breed.
Definition of ‘breeder’
The breeder is deemed to be the person, or persons recorded as such on the KC registration certificate. Where an exhibit is bred in partnership any deviation (eg a varying combination of names/ partners) will be regarded for the sake of this competition as a diff lated from different exhibits if the same individual or partnership (ie same combination of names) is applicable to each dog.
Period of competition
Points are calculated from relevant wins within the calendar year (1st January – 31st December)
Final decision
No discussions will be entered into and the decision of the Editor in all circumstances will be final.

Competition originally devised by Jean Jackson.
