July 22: Deerhound Appreciation Day - Approved Breed Specific Seminar run by the Deerhound Club. 10.00 am at The Village Hall, Longstowe, Cambridge CB23 2UH. Breed specialists will cover topics including The Standard; Judging the breed; breed specific movement; and more. Compare different hound breeds with an all-rounder. Lunch followed by mentoring and 'you be the judge' with a variety of live deerhounds to learn from. July 27/28/29: Leeds Championship show. Christina Chapman will be doing the KC Points of the Dog Assessments, fitted in around judging etc. Limited places so early booking is advised please contact Christina on: (or Tel: 01507 363736) for a booking form, cost is 15. Also on Friday and Saturday a Puppy Development seminar will be held from 2 - 3.15pm cost will be 10 to include refreshments (tea and cakes!) please contact as above.
July 29: The Southern Pointer Club Breed Specific Seminar (The Pointer) and Assessment at Nether Whitacre Village Hall, Coleshill, Birmingham, B46 (near M42 Midlands) Breed Specialists and Non Breed Specialists welcome. Breed Talk - All Welcome which includes an in-depth look at the breed with two speakers which will include History of the Breed, Breed Standard and Breed Type, Breed Specific Conformation & Movement, live exhibits, opportunity for hands-on, Q&A's, discussion throughout and Certificate of Attendance. A3/A2 Assessment with 5 dogs, hands on and written paper in accordance with the KC Code of Best Practice. Places are limited and applications are invited. 9.30am reg.
