Obituary - Jimmy Logan O.B.E.
THERE CAN be few who have not already heard of the sad passing of Jimmy Logan
who died on April 13, after losing his fight with cancer. He was 73.
Jimmy was loved throughout the world but, of course, particularly in Scotland
where as part of a family devoted to the theatre, he will be particularly sadly
missed, bless him.
He became a patron of Canine Concern Scotland Trust several years ago - and
his support, interest, and considerable help meant such a lot to us. Even just
speaking to Jimmy was a tonic in itself. His love of animals, particularly dogs,
was well known.
Many years ago he rescued a white Boxer - Benson - who became very well known
indeed , in fact both were patrons of Scottish Boxer Rescue at that time.
After Benson died, Jimmy became the devoted owner of black Labrador called Stanley
- and we at Canine Concern Scotland are lucky to have a permanent and abiding
memory of them both in the opening and closing shots of our Schools Video
- Children & Dogs. I defy anyone to watch this without smiling!!
The funeral took place in Glasgow Cathedral on April 19, attended by many celebrities
and hundreds of people from all walks of life who just loved him. We shall never
forget you, Jimmy, and send most loving thoughts to Angela and the family at
this very sad time.
