Santa
Paws is coming to town!
PEDIGREE AND Whiskas joined forces with ‘Santa Paws’ this December to
deliver Christmas Dinner to abandoned cats and dogs at the Wood Green
Animal Shelter, Godmanchester on December 11.
Wood Green Animal Shelter is one place amongst many where deliveries were
being made this year, running the length and breadth of the country, from
the Dog and Cat Home in Edinburgh to the Gables Farm Dogs and Cats Home
in Plymouth.
The
Christmas dinner deliveries - containing a Pedigree meal and treat for
each dog and a Whiskas pouch and treat for each cat - will arrive in good
time for Christmas Day!
Veterinary
Business Manager Ginny Hicks presented the donations to the centre managers.
Says Nigel Mason,, Head of Animal Welfare at the Wood Green Animal Shelters,
‘This gesture from Pedigree and Whiskas is very welcome, especially over
the Christmas period when abandoned cats and dogs are the last on anyone’s
gift list. Every little helps, particularly at this time of year when
we tend to see an influx of animals at Wood Green.’
A
spokesperson from Pedigree says, ‘owning a dog or cat is a long term commitment,
since many dogs have long life spans and therefore demand years of love
and attention. With these special gift packs, we are trying to remember
those cats and dogs that are usually forgotten at this time of year.’
