Police were called to an incident at the Wishaw Sports Centre on Sunday December 16th whilst the Rutherglen Canine Club Open Show was in progress.

It is believed that two female Rottweiler exhibitors had an argument which spilled over into the car park and which ended with one exhibitor allegedly being assaulted and thrown to the ground.

Police say the incident is being treated as a minor assault charge and the matter is being passed to the Procurator Fiscal who will decide on any further actions.

Judging of Rottweilers went ahead without incident. No complaints were received by the show management.
