Eukanuba sponsors eleventh Annual Dogs’ Home Walk

THE ELEVENTH Annual Sponsored Dog Walk in aid of the Manchester Dogs’ Home, will be held on Sunday 15th April 2001 at Heaton Park. The event, sponsored by Eukanuba, attracts over 600 dogs and their owners and always proves to be a great day out. Most walkers opt to do the one mile circuit once, but some hardy pets and their owners manage over 20 laps!

There are prizes for the most money raised, most miles completed, and for the oldest dog taking part. Bric-a-Brac stalls and tombola are just a couple of the attractions.

After completing the walk, all dogs are awarded a rosette and a goody bag. There is always a vet in attendance and many happy reunions held.

The Home admits on average over 11,000 stray dogs each year. It costs £55 a week to care for a dog, so fundraising events such as the Walk are essential to the Home’s survival.
