Car lovers raise cash for homeless animals

HOMELESS WESTCOUNTRY dogs and cats have been given a helping hand by a group of generous car enthusiasts.
Members of the Tamar Valley MG Owners’ Club raised £100 at a barbecue and duck race for the Gables Farm Cats’ and Dogs’ Home in Plymouth.

“Five of our members have taken on dogs from Gables Farm and we wanted to do something positive to support the charity’s work,” said Club Secretary Hilary Medland.

“We have all gained so much from our pets and we felt this would be a good way of helping other animals and owners in the future. Our rescue dog Pip, a lucher collie cross, means the world to us - even if he did eat through the back seat belts of our car the other day!”

Tony Harris, General Manager at Gables Farm said, “I am delighted with this donation which will be used for the welfare of the animals. Such donations are essential for ensuring we can continue to provide for homeless cats and dogs from all over West Devon and East Cornwall.”
