First cases of FMD in the Netherlands
ON WEDNESDAY March 21 the Dutch Minister of Agriculture announced that the first
cases of FMD in the Netherlands had been confirmed. Three other cases have been
confirmed.
On a farm in the eastern part of the Netherlands four cows had been diagnosed
as affected by FMD. As a result there has been a total transportation ban on
cattle, sheep and poultry.
