Animals caught in the act!
RSPCA
Young Photographer Awards 2001
THE RSPCA Young Photographer Awards, sponsored by Olympus Cameras, and Hodder
Wayland, are asking young photographers everywhere to capture their favourite
animal on film.
Now in its eighth year, this competition is recognised for discovering the hidden
photographic talents of the nations youth. Over the years, hundreds of
pictures have been sent in that have impressed even the most accomplished photographer.
These range from quick snaps taken of adored family pets, to amazing wildlife
shots that have left the judges transfixed.
To enter the competition, simply send in your favourite animal photographs -
you could focus on your family pet, investigate whats lurking at the bottom
of your garden, or even go on safari! No matter where you find yourself these
summer holidays, just point your camera and shoot the first creature in sight1
And if previous years are anything to go by, then this year looks set to bring
about even more impressive results.
Entries are divided into two different age groups: under 12s and 12 to 18s.
The overall winner will walk away with a fantastic Olympus state of the art
digital camera, £250 worth of Hodder Wayland books, and £250 in
cash. The winners school or college will also receive £1000 worth
of Hodder Wayland books.
Judges include TV presenter and wildlife photographer Chris Packham - who is
a long time supporter of the awards - and Sara Cubitt, Head of Marketing Communications
of Olympus Cameras, who comments, Its great to think that through
the Young Photographers Awards we are able to encourage children to develop
their creative skills and have fun with photography!

camera, £100 of Hodder Wayland books and £100 in cash. In addition,
