Brisbane
BSL slammed
THE
GRIM spectre of Breed Specific Legislation is being given serious consideration
by politicians in Brisbane, Australia, following a handful of isolated
dog biting incidents.
A
number of dog owners and enthusiasts have set up a website where anti-BSL
campaigners can download a standard letter to personalise and then send
to their local government to point out the failings of BSL.
Encouraged
by anti BSL campaigners around the world, via the Dog Holocaust Internet
List, the Australian campaigners are hoping that their concerted letter
writing and e-mailing campaign will force the politicians to think again
and to abandon their short-sighted ‘quick fix’ option of legislating against
certain dog breeds which they deem to be ‘dangerous’ on the flimsiest
of evidence.
