Charities
split
AT THEIR meeting on 7 November 2001 PRO Dogs’ Trustees accepted the
decision of its sister charity, Pets As Therapy Trustees, to separate
the two charities. The decision was dictated by conditions imposed by
Pets As Therapy’s successful appeal on GMTV’s ‘Get up and Give’ earlier
this year.
The
effect of this decision is that Pets As Therapy will move to separate
offices and that PAT volunteers need not initially join PRO Dogs. Those
members of PRO Dogs who are also PAT visitors will, it is hoped, continue
to support both charities, and those now joining Pets As Therapy will,
of course, be welcomed by PRO Dogs, should they wish to join.
Both
charities have declared their intention to continue to co-operate closely
for the benefit of dogs and the people they serve.
