CRUFTS DOG IN ART AND LITERATURE AUCTION 2002 in aid of The Kennel Club Charitable Trust Entries are currently being accepted for the Crufts 2002 art auction. Highlights of last year's sale include a painting by Gourlay Steell of the Deerhound Bran which sold for £8,500; a signed limited edition print by Cecil Aldin (£320); a collection of Wire Haired Fox Terrier cutlery (£230); Volume 1 of The Kennel Club Stud Book (£270) and a 1st edition of The Bull Dog by Edgar Farman (£280). As a result of last year's auction The Kennel Club Charitable Trust Appeal received in excess of £13,000. Past recipients of Trust donations have included rescue centres, the Animal Health Trust and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. Over the years the Trust has also supported many scientific research projects directed towards improving canine health including funding for research leading to the development of DNA tests for use in the identification and control of inherited diseases in dogs. Items for auction can be donated to the Trust or sold on behalf of vendors, the vendor receiving 65% and the Trust 35%. No item is too 'small', 'unimportant' or 'minor' for consideration. For
