I RECENTLY received a phone call from our friend of many years, Richard Houghton, informing me that his father, Major Houghton, the well-known gundog judge, had died at noon on the 6th October, after recently celebrating his 97th birthday.

Jack, as he was generally known, owned the prefix ‘Peckers’ which was passed to Richard and can still be found in many Hungarian Vizslas’ pedigrees today.

Our thoughts are with Richard and Marion and the girls at this very sad time.
