THIS YEAR’S BVA Congress will be held at The Winchester Guildhall from
Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 October 2001.
The
congress which has established itself as the premier forum in which issues
of concern to the UK veterinary profession can be highlighted and discussed,
commences with two simultaneous one-day sessions. The Dogs Seminar, organised
in conjunction with Society of Greyhound Veterinarians, will commence
with an overview of veterinary involvement in Greyhound racing before
addressing a number of specific health and welfare issues.
Meanwhile
The Food Production Seminar, organised in conjunction with the Veterinary
Public Health Association, includes presentations from representatives
of the many links in the food chain, not least the Food Standards Agency
and supermarkets.
The
Opening Ceremony and Awards presentations will feature addresses by The
Baroness Mallalieu, Chairman of the Countryside Alliance and Mr David
Tyson, the President of the BVA.
OUR
DOGS will review some of the canine papers when these become available.
