All
about dogs
All
about dogs was probably the most comprehensive canine event to be held
this year. Virtually every section of the canine world attended, enthusiastic
professionals and the public had a perfect opportunity with this event
to look, learn, promote & educate.
Six
television companies, asked for permission film around the showground,
the organisers thought that six might be too many and allowed four film
crews to attend.
Exhibition
space was made available for just thirty breed stands at this year’s event.
After all the experts on these stands reported what a wonderful day they’d
had promoting their specific breeds, the organisers have decided to double
the amount of breed stands attending next year.
Marvellous
Thousands
of people flocked into the 60 acre showground at the brentwood Centre
Leisure Complex, where they were treated to a cornucopia of all things
doggie. An inter counties Police Trial, Schutzhund Training, Obedience,
Agility, Gundogs, Working Trials and Heelwork to Music were just a few
disciplines that were taking place in the many different arenas. The main
ring had a marvellous selection of displays and demonstrations throughout
the day and finished off with a grand parade.
The
public also had the chance to gain valuable advice about the many different
breeds that were on show. The have-a-go rings were packed throughout the
day.
PAT
dogs had an added bonus of nearly £5000, when four hundred dogs and their
handlers took part in a sponsored down stay in the main arena, this part
of the show was filmed and broadcast by GMTV as part of their Get Up and
Give campaign.
Next
year All About Dogs will be staged on the weekend of 11th & 12th May 2002,
and the organisers are particularly keen to hear from people involved
in all aspects of the doggie world. Breed advisors or experts would be
most welcome to come to apply for stand space.
