A big day for Lapphunds!

ON MONDAY April 1 the Finnish Lapphund was properly recognised by the Kennel Club, so they could compete alongside all other breeds.

At Hertfordshire Canine Society open show last Monday Elbereth Nalle at Hildrek, (owned by Doreen Edmunds) won Best Not Separately Classified. His sister Elbereth Toive Owned/bred by Toni Jackson) won the Best Any Variety Pastoral section. They are both from the UK’s first passport litter out of Sulyka Mischa at Elbereth by Fin Ch Lumiturpa Nörri and are not yet two years old.

This meant that both Nalle & Toive could compete in Best in show and breed history was made when Nalle won Reserve BIS under John James (Crensa).
