Kennel Club confirms CEO appointment

Roger French will be leaving the Kennel Club at the end of May after seven years as Chief Executive. In preparation for his departure and to ensure continuity, on 1st April Rosemary Smart was appointed to the role of Chief Executive. This decision follows Rosemary’s appointment as Deputy Chief Executive in January of this year.

Rosemary will be supported in her role by Secretary Caroline Kisko and a strong senior management team and professional staff in developing and strengthening the Kennel Club’s position both within the canine world, and externally, for the furtherance of the Kennel Club’s Mission Statement “the general improvement of dogs”.

Said Roger French, who remains with the Kennel Club as Consultant until the end of May, “I am sure that the world of dogs will wish to join me in congratulating Rosemary on her appointment, and will support her in the future as I have been supported in my term. A strong, able team exists both at Clarges Street and Aylesbury and I feel sure that the Kennel Club will continue to evolve and protect the dog’s role in society.”
