WKC Top Dog and Top Puppy


THE WELSH Kennel Club is again to hold the ‘Welsh Top Dog’ and ‘Welsh Top Puppy’ competitions.

The Top Dog competition will be open to any exhibit who has won a Kennel Club Challenge Certificate.

The Top Puppy competition will, as before, be open to any puppy who has won a Best Puppy in Show at an Open Show or a Best Puppy in Breed at a Championship Show after 1 January 2001. The final qualifier for this competition will be the Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show being held in August 2002.

For both events dogs and owners must be resident in Wales.

This year the special events are to be held on Saturday 23 November 2002 at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. The Top Puppy Competition is to be held in the afternoon commencing at 1.30pm whilst the Top Dog Competition is to be staged in the evening commencing at 6.30pm and will be followed by a presentation dinner.

Each competitor will be required to pay an entry fee of £10 per dog entered.

The cost of the dinner in the evening will be £25 per head but exhibitors who have entered will only be required to pay a further £15 to attend the dinner.

The Welsh Kennel club is pleased and grateful that the event is again to be sponsored by Patsi Ann Standard Image who will be presenting specially sculptured trophies to the winner and runner up of both competitions. In addition Pedigree Masterfoods will again be giving their support as one of the main sponsors.
