Discover your perfect partner at Discover Dogs

The Kennel Club will be staging Discover Dogs at Earl’s Court 2, London on the 16th and 17th November 2002. If you like dogs you’ll love Discover Dogs so make sure you diary this date!

Discover Dogs, sponsored by Masterfoods, is a unique and perfect place to meet and greet over 180 different breeds of pedigree dog. Whatever your favourite breed, you will be able to find out exactly what’s involved in choosing, training and building a rewarding relationship with our canine friends.

But the show is not all about established pedigrees - there will be plenty of cross breeds and mongrels taking part in the displays, demonstrating just how diverse man’s best friends really is and why their varied and valued roles in society need to be protected. For example, Support Dogs and Hearing Dogs for deaf people will show the audience their unique and hugely beneficial skills that help to enhance their owner’s independence. Demonstrations will also be given by the Metropolitan Police Dogs and Essex Dog Display Team, clearly proving the invaluable roles that dogs play in our society.

As if this wasn’t enough, there are also three grand canine finals taking place during the show. Firstly, if you would like to witness the thrills and spills of breed judging and see some of the top young dogs in the country competing for the coveted ‘Junior Warrant Winners of the Year’ competition, Saturday 16th November is a day you simply cannot miss! Come and experience your own mini-crufts right in the heart of London!

On the same day you can also catch the Champion Dog Club Final, which is open to pedigrees and cross breeds, where ‘members’ will be put through their paces to be awarded ‘Competition Dog of the Year 2002’.

If it’s ‘Nice Guy Eddie’ you’re after then Sunday 17th November is for you, for this is when the Pal Scruffts final to find the ‘Family Cross Breed Dog of the Year’ will be taking place.

Heats have been co-ordinated the length and breadth of the country and the final will be judged by dog loving celebrity Ricky Tomlinson.

Said Vanessa McAlpine, Events and Education Executive; “It is our intention at Discover Dogs 2002 to reaffirm the Kennel Club’s objective to protect the dog’s role in society and to ensure we continue to be the voice for all dogs, pedigree and cross breeds alike.”

Now in it’s seventh year Discover Dogs is pleased to announce that it is also supported by Associated Newspapers Ltd and Renault.
