Mrs Olive Simpson dies

OFFICIALS AT Bournemouth C A championship show were staggered to learn of the death of their Hound group judge Mrs Olive Simpson only two days after she judged at their show.

The news came in a brief phone call to the showground which said that she had been found dead at her home near Llanelli, South Wales last Monday morning.

A former breeder and exhibitor of Afghans and Salukis under the Akbalkan prefix with her husband Denys, she was appointed as a replacement judge at Bournemouth show only last week when Mr George Johnston was unable to judge.

She was treasurer of the Afghan Hound Association of Wales for 17 years and was a former joint secretary of the Royal Welsh A S dog section. As we go to press no funeral details have been announced.

THE FUNERAL of Mrs Olive Simpson will take place on 23 August 2002 at 1.40pm at Southampton Crematorium, East Chapel, Bassett Green Road.

Those wishing to send flowers or make donations to the Kennel Club Trust are respectfully requested to send same to: Henry Powell and Sons, Funeral Undertakers, 13 Ealing Lane, Totton, Southampton.

Anyone wishing to attend the funeral, who requires directions to the Crematorium, should please ring Sharon (Olive's niece) on 07799 621815.
