THE KENNEL Club good Citizen Dog Seminar is to go over the sea
to Ireland on Sunday 29th September 2002 at the Malone Lodge
Hotel, Belfast, Northern Ireland
The seminar is specifically designed for all Good Citizen enthusiasts
including Training Club co-ordinators, Training Instructors,
current Scheme examiners, prospective examiners and potential
Good Citizen students. Topics have been chosen which repeatedly
raise the most queries and are of considerable interest to dog
owners and training club representatives.

10.00 10.15 Registration and Refreshments; 10.15
10.25 Introduction - Kathryn Symns Assistant Secretary
of the Kennel Club and member of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme
Working Party, will open the days proceedings.
10.25 11.05 Spirit of the Scheme: Hosting & Examining
a Good Citizen Test; Most Frequently Asked Questions
Conducted by Heidi Lawrence (GCDS Manager)
11.05 11.20 The Kennel Club Conducted by Kathryn
Symns. This presentation will cover the role of the Kennel Club.
11.20 12.05 Puppy Foundation Assessment: Conducted by
Heidi Lawrence and will cover how to organise, understand and
assess the requirements of this level.
12.05- 12.15 Tea Break
12.15 12.50 Bronze Award; Conducted by Mike McCartney
and will cover how to organise, examine and understand the requirements
of this level. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
12.50 1.50 Buffet Lunch
1.50 2.35 Silver Award; Conducted by Heidi Lawrence and
will cover how to organise, examine and understand the requirements
of this level. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
2.35 2.50 KC Accreditation of Dog Training Instructors
Scheme; Conducted by Kathryn Symns. This short presentation
will provide an update of the pilot scheme.
2.50 3.35 Gold Award: Conducted by Mike McCartney and
will cover how to organise, examine and understand the requirements
of this level. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
3.35 4.00 Questions & Answers
4.00 4.15 Close & Afternoon Tea
Tickets for the event will cost £5 per person, which includes
all refreshments, lunch, certificate of attendance and booklet
of presentations. Pre-registration is necessary. Tickets will
not be on sale on the day. There are limited spaces available,
which will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
