Mr Colin Jackson
It is with deep regret that the Officers & Committee of Rossendale Valley CS write about the sudden and untimely death of their Chairman Colin Jackson on the 3rd August 2002.
Colin had been a stalwart of Rossendale Valley for over 40 years, being a committee member for at least 24 years, before becoming President, and of late the Chairman, he will be sadly missed by the club of which he was very justly proud , Also as a local dog person who has always greeted friends old and new with a smile and share his wealth of dog knowledge.
He was passed to award CCs in English Springer Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels which he had the pleasure of judging at Crufts 2002, and should have awarded for the first time this year CCs in Welsh Springer Spaniels at Birmingham City, to which he was looking forward.
Colin showed English Springer Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels under his Lowview prefix making up titleholders and in more recent years had success with the partnership of Mr & Mrs T.
Astons Tasa kennel Colin was a devoted family man to his wife Hazel this has come as a double tragedy only recently having lost her father, our deepest sympathy to Hazel, his son Phillip, and grandson Adam.
The funeral took place on Monday the 12 August at St Annes church, Tottington and as one would expect the church was full of many family and friends of Colin .
Hazel and Phillip are overwhelmed with the many letters and cards they have received. They would like to thank everybody for their kind words and thoughts at this difficult time.
