Southern Counties Canine Association has a long history of service to exhibitors and has a reputation for open government and innovation second to none.
Since the show in June, the SCCA Committee has been working on plans to improve the show and those plans have been submitted to the Kennel Club through the Show Executive Committee and the Kennel Club's final decision on those plans will be made known to the society in September. The members and canine press will be informed immediately.
In the meantime the association emphasise there is no pressure on the show to move and no plans to sell the showground owned by the society at Ifield Wood near Crawley in Sussex.
David Cavill, the association's chairman, stresses that the changes proposed are driven entirely by the access, drainage and size of the current site that together have made conditions for exhibitors, contractors and trade stands less than ideal.
