Leonberger Breed Club requests change to Schedule 1 Eye Conditions

Following unanimous agreement at a well-attended AGM, the Leonberger Club has requested that hereditary cataract should be moved from schedule 3 to schedule 1 under the BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Scheme from 1 January 2003.

Under the Eye Scheme, results for examinations for schedule 1 conditions are published by the Kennel Club. Publication for this condition in this breed would mean that results would appear, alongside the date of testing, on registration certificates and in the Breed Records Supplement.

The Kennel Club would normally insist on a minimum of three months warning to breeders before agreeing to such a change, but it seems that this is not necessary in this case as the request for the move has been made by the breed club.
