Irish
R&W Setter Club of gb hosts challenge match

BIC Kath Griffins Sh Ch Vanders Veracity and
RBIC Charles Hendersons Anjuli Iced Warrior at Temynloah
with judge Penny Williams
Winner
of the annual Irish Red & White Setter Club of GBs
Challenge match was Kath Griffins Sh Ch Vanders Veracity;
RBIC was Charles Hendersons Anjuli Iced Warrior at Temynloah
and BP Mary Sherratts Eusanit Miss Saigon for Charnborough,
handled by Margaret Pitman.
The Challenge match, open to Irish Red & White Setters who
have achieved a CC or RCC and puppies who have been placed first,
second or third at a Championship show with CCs on offer, attracted
a good entry.
The judge, announced on the day, was well-known gundog specialist
Penny Williams (Bournehouse). Penny thanked the Club for the
invitation and said how much she had enjoyed the day, saying
how important special events are to a breed where everyone can
get together to socialise, have fun and compete. Master of Ceremonies,
Martyn Ford, made the draw for the match and ensured the competition
went smoothly in his usual jovial fashion.
This year the Challenge was held at a new venue near Tamworth
which proved very popular. Exhibitors and spectators contributed
to an American picnic lunch, co-ordinated by Gaye OConnor,
Helen Cohen and Chris Heimes, while the hall was well decorated
with photographs and Club insignia. All exhibitors received
a commemorative rosette and photograph.
