Crufts entries close on Friday January 3rd. 2003 (postmark) and those who have qualified for the show can enter on-line up to 11.59pm on the day.

The schedule was posted to last year’s exhibitors at the end of November and OUR DOGS understands that the very first on-line entry came from Ross-shire in north of Scotland and was followed by several from the continent! Since then there have been many more overseas entries and the Crufts stand was very busy at the LKA show two weeks ago.

A number of inaccuracies have been discovered in the Crufts Schedule recently issued.

GUNDOG GROUP – RESERVE REFEREE

As is customary at Crufts, in case the Group Judge is not available at the appropriate time, a ‘Reserve Referee’ is appointed for breeds where two judges are due to officiate. The Reserve Referee is announced for the Gundog Group as being Mrs C.E. Cartledge. This is incorrect, the Reserve Referee should in fact have been named as Mrs V Foss.

CANAAN DOG – CLASSIFICATION

The Classification for this breed should be stated as:

2070 Special Yearling Dog or Bitch
2071 Open Dog
2072 Open Bitch
- and not as stated in the Schedule.

USA QUALIFICATION TERMINOLOGY

The term ‘Best Opposite Sex’ is not strictly correct in the context of the American Kennel Club Rules Applying to Dog Shows. The term, which should have been used, is ‘Best of Opposite Sex’.
