The Pet Advertising Advisory Group formally launched its proposals
for improved access to infomation for pet owners at a meeting
at Portcullis House, Westminster on 25th January.
Leading animal charities have joined together to form PAAG
in an attempt to persuade local newspapers and other magazines
to take up the ideas pioneered by Exchange and Mart in its
pet sales section.
These include providing information panels about the care
that needs to be taken before buying a pet and a Vet Check
accreditation for regular advertisers.
David Cavill, Chairman of Our Dogs Publishing Limited and
Trustee of the Pet Care Trust was delighted to be able to
announce that Johnston Press, one of the largest publishers
of local newspapers in the UK, had given him a commitment
to use the PAAG information panels.
Seen here at the launch are Brian Bailey of Exchange and Mart,
with NCDL Chief Executive, Clarrissa Baldwin and Derek Conway
TD MP, Chief Executive of Cats Protection, who hosted
the launch.
