Elizabeth Wyatt from Aberdeen is the owner of PAT dog Tigger who visits Easleight Care Home in Peterculter, Aberdeen, and also Rosehill Day Centre.
Elizabeth tells me that Tigger just loves being a PAT dog and enjoys showing off her retrieving and catching skills, which the residents thoroughly enjoy watching. Elizabeth would love to hear from other PAT volunteers in the Aberdeen area. If you would like to contact her please give me a call on the telephone number below and I will pass on your interest to Elizabeth. Those of you who contact Pets As Therapy Head Office will already have spoken with our new employees. Lorna Jones joined Pets As Therapy as office administrator just before Christmas.
had worked previously in various administrative posts but
made the decision to move into the charity sector because
she wanted to feel she was really helping people. Lorna tells
me that she is overwhelmed by the Pets As Therapy people she
has come into contact with as everyone has made her feel so
welcome. Our other new administrative assistant is Julian
Payze who is a volunteer working two days a week, usually
Monday and Wednesday. Julian tells me that it is brilliant
to be able to enjoy work as much as he does and that both
he and Lorna recognise the importance of the work PAT volunteers
and their pets do, and will always endeavour to help all they
Everyone at Pets As Therapy would like to offer our sincere condolences to Andrew Cooke the Pets As Therapy Treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees, on the sudden death of his wife Mary. Our thoughts are with Andrew and his family at this sad time
The annual Pets As Therapy Fun will take place from 4th - 12th May and will include the usual Walkover sponsored dog walk. Already we have 22 walks taking place throughout the UK and we would love to hear from anyone who would like to organise a walk in their area. It is very easy to do as most of the hard work - letters etc are already written for you.
Walkover is a great way of getting together with other dog lovers. You do not have to be a member or own a PAT dog to take part. We welcome everyone. If you would like to take part in a walk or you would like to organise one, large or small, just give me a call at the Northern office telephonr number below. Similarly people are now thinking of other fundraising ideas for Fun Week. To date we have coffee mornings, treasure hunts, quiz nights etc. Last year one of the largest events was a sponsored sit. Could your training class organise one of these? We welcome all your ideas and help.
