Judge taken ill at Three Counties

PUG JUDGE Mr Alice Williams, 85, of the famous Hoonme prefix was taken ill at the Three Counties AS show last week after judging three classes on a cold morning.

Concern was expressed by exhibitors at her condition and observers from the show management team spoke to her in the judges’ reception area after which she voluntarily stepped down.

After Kennel Club advice was sought a replacement judge in Dawn Andow, who had entered dogs under Mrs Williams, stepped into the ring and rejudged the classes which had been judged.

Concern was expressed that the stewards in the ring had not intervened but our dogs learned that the show management had kept a careful eye on the proceedings.

Mrs Williams later went home and was reported to be better after a days rest.
