Guide
Dogs national coffee morning
On
Saturday, 5 October 2002, for the third year running, Real Coffee
experts Douwe Egberts, is sponsoring Guide Dogs National
Coffee Morning. All over the country people are being encouraged
to raise a cup of quality coffee in support of Guide Dogs. It
is hoped that the fundraising total of £120,000 (gross)
achieved last year will be beaten in 2002.
A Coffee Morning Kit has been created to get people started.
It is full of useful items including a free pack of Douwe Egberts
coffee, celebrity recipes as well as posters and leaflets to
support the event. The charity would like to hear from members
of the public, or organisations interested in hosting a coffee
morning.
Geraldine Peacock, Chief Executive of The Guide Dogs for the
Blind Association, said: It costs £10 a day to breed,
train and support each guide dog - thats 10,000 days paid
for through last years coffee morning events. But with
some 5,000 guide dog owners needing a new dog on average every
seven years, we need another instant fundraising success in
2002. We are thrilled with Douwe Egberts continued support.
