Obituary
Mr Les Atkins LES ATKINS, aged 83, passed away on February 27th at the General Hospital, Leicester, he had suffered from kidney failure. The funeral took placed at Loughborough Crematorium on Thursday 7th March. Les, with his wife, Dorothy, will be best known for his involvement in Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the 1950s with Her Ladyship of Wychbury, and Swannymote. He was in the past secretary of both Loughborough & DCS and the Miniature Bull Terrier Club and chairman of Alfreton CS. Les gave CCs in both Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Miniature Bull Terriers and judged abroad in Malta, South Africa and Australia. He led an active life in the local community, being secretary of the First Army, chairman of Hathern parish council and clerk to Colerton parish council for nearly 30 years.
