Harriers
artistic talents put to the test
The
Harrier Integrated Projects Team (IPT) at RAF Wyton has sent
in the troops to lend a helping hand to Wood Green Animal Shelter
in Godmanchester in the form of painting boards to brighten
up the centres dog kennels.
The Harrier IPT chose to base its project on the animal shelter
during the summer of 2001.
They approached the shelter, which suggested painting the boards
to liven up the present plain grey walls of the kennelling block.
The shelter has initially received four pictures, which depict
scenes involving some of the types of animals taken in Wood
Green Animal Shelters. The team are now working on a further
eight boards to brighten up the dogs stay in the kennels.
Chief Executive at Wood Green Animal Shelters, Dennis Baker
OBE said I know the Harrier Integrated Project Team from
my days in the Royal Air Force, and I was really pleased when
they asked if they could do something to help Wood Green. The
hanging murals they have painted are fantastic. Not only are
they well produced, but also the designs and colours will lighten
the kennels and make them feel friendly and homely for the dogs
while they are in our care. We are all very grateful for their
efforts.
