LOCAL
ANIMAL welfare charity The Blue Cross is seeking energetic
fundraisers to take part in a national abseilathon. Forthcoming
dates include Saturday 8 and Sunday 9th June at the Thistle
Hotel in Luton and Sunday 28th July at the John Ratcliffe
Hospital in Oxford.
The charity, which has 11 small animal adoption centres and
two equine centres across the UK, hope to raise over £4000
from these and 10 other similar nationwide. All funds will
go towards helping The Blue Cross continue to fulfil its unique
role in caring for animals.
Davina Williams, fundraising events officer at The Blue Cross
says: Wed welcome anyone who would like to take
part in these events. Young or old your local abseilathon
will offer a rewarding, fun packed day for all local residents.
Your participation will help the thousands of animals which
The Blue Cross cares for every year.
No experience is required to take part, as each participant
will be given full training on the day. Participants need
to register with a deposit of £15 and then raise a minimum
of £145 in sponsorship. Group fundraisers will benefit
from a discounted sponsorship fee.
For those who want to raise money please contact The Blue
Cross on 01993-825502 for a free information pack.
