US Toy kennel devastated by fire

A garage fire started by an industrial dryer used for blowdrying a top toy kennel in Florida has ended in disaster.

Colleen and David Krug lost two dozen champion Yorkshire Terriers, Silky Terriers and other toy breeds in the blaze. Firefighters used oxygen to revive some of the dogs but the lives lost are irreplaceable. A top Silky Terrier, producer of four champions in 2001 died in the inferno and it is suspected that two of the champion offspring died as well. Officials said the dryer had been problematic, tripping a circuit breaker several times but Colleen Krug and her sister had reset it. The dogs are like children to the Krugs who are devastated by the incident. It is thought the damage to the home and two cars will amass $160,000.
