Obituary
Arthur Pine

I AM sad to report the death of Arthur Pine on Wednesday May 22nd at the age of 72.
Ever since he suffered a massive stroke about twelve years ago, he had bravely fought against ill health, supported throughout most loyally by his wife, Irene.

Arthur was involved with Poodles all his married life, having first a Poodle addicted wife and later a Poodle-mad daughter, Sharon (Pine-Haynes), whose Vicmars (Standards) and Gayvals (Toy) prefixes are so well known.

Many people in dogs will remember Arthur as an ace steward with a good loud voice who always kept his ring running smoothly and was helpful to the judge without being obtrusive. I was always delighted to have his help as a steward when I was judging.

Before the family moved south, Arthur was Treasurer of the Northumbria Poodle Club, and did a lot to put the Club on a firm footing. Both he and Irene were long serving membes of the Poodle Club Committee and when he and Irene retired from the Committee they were both made honorary life members.

Sincere sympathy goes to his widow, Irene, daughter Sharon, son Kevin and five grandchildren.
