Newfoundlands Raise Money for Children's Charities

Newfound Friends, who use the time-honoured skills of Newfoundlands to raise funds for children’s charities, has decided to mark the milestone of raising £250,000 by appointing two new patrons. These are the actress, Jenny Seagrove and St John Hartnell OBE who was the principal person behind the 500th celebrations of the discovery of Newfoundland.

Both are good friends of the society and will work alongside Sharron Davies to promote the activities and good work of the Newfoundland. Children’s charities that have benefitted this year include the Children’s Hospice South West, Southmead Hospital Special Babycare Unit, Demelza Children’s Hospice in Kent, the Lady Hoare Trust and Edward Mullard Commemorative Fund, that encourages children to keep healthy through sport.
