Mrs
Wendy Beaton
Wendy
Beaton, a committee member of the Samoyed Breeders &
Owners League, was taken ill whilst attending the British
Samoyed Clubs Ch Show at Newark on Saturday, October
5th.
She and her husband, Tom, were there to show their bitch,
Vandreem Imperial Vogue at Astarki. She was taken to Newark
hospital but news later reached exhibitors that she had died
shortly after admission from a massive heart attack. The bitch,
Jenni, who had gained her Junior Warrant and a Reserve CC,
was shown by her breeder, Andrea Kirkwood and took third in
Post Graduate.
Wendy was a kind and gentle person, always willing to help
newcomers to the breed. She and Tom held the Astarki
affix, but restricted their kennel to just one or two show
dogs at a time. They regularly took their camper van to the
summer shows and were well known members of a group of like
minded Sammy exhibitors.
The whole breed feels a great sense of loss because she died
at the young age of fifty-eight. To Tom and sons Marc and
Iain everyone sends their sympathy at this sad time. We are
all thinking of them.

Miss
Margaret Brown
As
President of Bootle & Crosby C S it is with great sadness
I have to inform every one of the death of Miss Margaret Brown.
Margaret was a long serving member of Bootle & Crosby
committee and served as Vice Chairman for a number of years.
She lost her brave fight against cancer and will be greatly
missed by all her friends in the north west area and indeed
the whole of the country as she showed Beagles with some success.
Margaret was an avid supporter of the local open shows and
known by all for her enthusiasm and boundless energy, she
remembered the Bootle & Crosby CS in her will and left
a substantial sum of money to the society.
