HEARTIEST
CONGRATULATIONS to Freda & Kenneth Lupton (pictured) who
celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary on 24th October 2002.
Freda and Kenneth are known to many people in the world of
dogs for their breeding and showing of Labradors, from the
late 1950s when they first established the Dorrfield
affix and through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s during which
time they enjoyed many successes with several homebred dogs.
One notable show success outside of Labradors was a Beagle
Champion
Dorrfield Wendover Twiggy, who claimed her title in 1969 and
about whom Kenneth was often heard to say, "She is such
hard work to show give me a Labrador anyday!.
Labradors have always been Fredas favourite, although
other breeds have featured over the years Irish Setters,
Beagles and Bassets. Many puppy exports were made to Europe
and of those several went on to become Champions and International
Champions. To this day the Dorrfield name can be found in
many European Labrador pedigrees.
Freda and Kenneths love of Labradors continues to the
present day as they still hold a small kennel of now retired
Labradors along with a rogue breed
a Miniature Schnauzer
who "lives in".
A celebration party will take place at Dorrfield this coming
weekend where their four children, their grandchildren and
their great-grandchildren, will all join Freda and Kenneth.
