OBITUARY
- Mrs Joan Simpson
It
is with great sadness I have to report the untimely death of
Mrs Joan Simpson on Wednesday 26th March from a fatal heart
attack. A much respected lady she had suffered poor health for
a number of years but carried on regardless giving her time
and energy to the breed she loved and its parent club, The
Cocker Spaniel Club.
When husband Ed became Secretary of the club in 1978 Joan took
on the job of Assistant secretary, also taking care of the clubs
trophies and helping with the year book publications. On Ed
and Joans retiring from these positions in 1987 I recall
the beautiful painting of their Sh Ch Coltrim Mississippi Gambler
which was presented to them on behalf of the club it gave them
both such pleasure.
Joan continued on the committee, she was the clubs PRO
officer and always made our overseas visitors so welcome, a
job she was doing so ably at Crufts. She gave the club 25 years
of her time, knowledge and experience, a rare thing these days
and Joan will be greatly missed.
To husband Ed and family we send our sincere sympathies.
