Fundraising off to a flying start
SEARCH AND Rescue Dog Association handler David Watt is planning a novel way to raise money for SARDA - by flying around the coast of Scotland in his homemade aeroplane!
David, from Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria, has scheduled the trip for September in a bid to raise the profile of the association, which co-ordinates the advanced training of experienced mountain rescue personnel. David is attached to SARDA (Lakes) which currently has 15 qualified dogs in the Lake District, and it is hoped that this daring feat will help raise money toward the ultimate aim of doubling the number of dogs covering the area.
