Obituary
Mr Terry Lamb

It is with sadness I report the death of Terry Lamb (Highroyd Dobermanns). Terry was a well known figure around the Dobermann rings .His dog showing career span over many years.

We first met Terry in the 70s when we bought a Dobermann bitch from him he became a very good friend and along with his wife Christine was always willing to give help and support when asked Terry took training classes for Dobermanns and sat on the North of England Dobermann Club as a committee member for many years then was elected Vice Chairman. I am sure there are many in the show ring today who have Terry to thank for not only breeding the stock behind their dogs but for his ability to handle and pass this skill on to all who were willing to listen and learn

Terry’s favourite dog home bred Ch Highroyds Avenger (our Vic) as he was known was the first home bred dog for Terry and Christine Lamb. Avenger went on to be a very famous sire producing champion after champion. Terry and his wife Christine bred many Dobermann champions under their Highroyds affix Man of the Year was a popular male dog bred by Terry and Christine. And he took quite a few group wins .In the middle nineties Terry suffered with bad health and underwent surgery for his heart Terry managed to carry on judging at championship show level. He judged the Scottish Dobermann Club championship show which I think became his last appointment with ccs . He was seen at all the shows held by the North of England and the Midland Dobermann clubs supported by his son Darren.

He attended Crufts every year and was there this year. It was an honour to have known Terry and a pleasure to have been his friend. Arthur and I learnt a lot about the breed and how to handle from him. Terry passed away on July 20th age 64 I am sure he will be sadly missed our sympathy to his wife Christine son Darren and all the lamb family.
