Police in Lincolnshire have arrested 12 men after a raid on an address in Gainsborough.

RSPCA officials joined police in the swoop which was part of a three year investigation into dog fighting rings. The on-going inquiries have involved men from ten forces and 73 dogs have been seized.

The raids were said to be the culmination of Operation Gazpacho, a three year probe into alleged dog-fighting rings.

Other addresses and outbuildings were visited and searched in Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Birmingham, Chesterfield, huddersfield, Leicester, Liverpool and London.
