Ch Senacre Hooghly

The pepper Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Ch Senacre Hooghly has died, just short of his 16th birthday. "Dylan" was a classic slow maturing Dandie, not being made up till he was three and a half years old and continued winning as a veteran.

Bred by Anne Mattinson and initially groomed, trained and handled to his title by Charmaine Wheelan (nee Ennis), he continued his show career with his joint owners, Sheila Bullock and Paul Keevil and went on to win a total of 21CCs. He was twice BOB at Crufts and was short listed in the Group both times, won a total of four Breed Club BISs, was a multiple "Dandie of the Year" winner and was Reserve in the group at Leicester in 1990.

Dylan was also an "animal actor" with numerous TV appearances to his credit, most famously when he was cast as Lady Haycock’s dog, in the top rated BBC costume drama of the early 1990s, "The House of Eliott".
