Ron
and Maureen Caney from Cheshire, well known judges and breeders
of Beagles have won the Purina Beta Pup of the Year free prize
draw 2002. The competition was open to all Beta Pup of the
Year contestants at championship shows throughout the year
and the winner was announced at the LKA in Birmingham, December
15th 2002.
A delighted Ron and Maureen have won a luxury 5 night holiday
for two in Dortmund, Germany, May 28th 2nd June. During
their stay, the Caneys will receive daily passes to the World
Dog Show where they will witness the very best in international
competition and on the final day they will be treated to ringside
seats to soak up the atmosphere of the spectacular Best in
Show.
The Caneys will enjoy the comfort of a luxurious hotel situated
in the centre of Dusseldorf, welcome champagne and flowers
on arrival plus dinner each night in the hotels à la
carte restaurant. The prize also includes a fantastic sightseeing
trip around Cologne and a romantic dinner for two in a traditional
German restaurant.
Says Maureen, "We are thrilled to win the prize, it will
be a great experience to go to the World Dog Show and meet
new friends. Purina Beta Pup of the Year is the highlight
in our showing calendar and although we did not make the final,
winning the free prize draw was fantastic compensation!"
Pup of the Year and the Pup of the Year free prize draw -
created to celebrate the competitions outstanding success
as the premier event for puppies - is being sponsored next
year by Purina Pro Plan. Competitors are invited to pick up
their exclusive POTY goody bag, including a competition entry
form, from the Purina stand (which will feature both Pro Plan
and Beta) at Championship shows throughout 2003.
