Dogs
can battle the bulge, too!
Svelte
and slim Pepper and Tiger beat weight watchers from all
over the country recently, and were awarded the national title
of Hills Pet Slimmers of the Year! These are
two dieters with a difference weight watchers with four
legs not two.
With a staggering 50% of cats and dogs in the UK considered
obese, there are 7 million chubby cats and dogs across the country!
To help raise awareness of pet obesity, Hills* Pet Nutrition
launched the Pet Slimmer of the Year Competition to reward heavy
hounds and flabby felines that manage to lose plenty of pounds.
Top cat Tiger from Southampton and dishy dog Pepper from Burton-in-Lonsdale,
beat cats and dogs from all over their region to enter for the
national title of Hills Pet Slimmer of the Year 2002 which
was judged this year by celebrity vet, Emma Milne (Vets in Practice).
Each lucky slimmer winner attended a swanky lunch
on Friday 13th December at the Conrad Hotel in Londons
Chelsea Harbour in order to be presented their prize by the
lovely Shauna Lowry.
Pepper lost an amazing 41% of his overall bodyweight and Tiger
lost 33% of his bodyweight!
To reward both pets on their outstanding achievement, both win
a years supply of pet food and £500 worth of pet
activities or accessories and their owners win £2,000
worth of holiday vouchers.
