Last East Anglian Supermatch

THE EAST Anglian Supermatch 2003 will be held on March 1st. As in previous years, all profits raised will be used to purchase equipment for the Wood Green Animal Shelters.

The policy of the Huntingdonshire Canine Society is to purchase equipment that contributes to the wellbeing of the animals within the Shelter’s care, and last year donated a considerable sum towards the purchase of an x-ray machine for the new veterinary centre.

The SuperMatch will be held at the Burgess Civic Hall in historic St Ives, and once again will be sponsored by Pedigree, supported by other companies linked to the world of dogs.

It is intended that the Match will follow the same format as previous years; 64 dogs selected from the East Anglian open shows held during 2002, will compete in 32 dog knockout competitions for the SuperMatch Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show. The compere will be Bernard Hall, who will reveal the three mystery judges prior to judging and the day will be rounded off by a four course dinner and dance.

Sadly, this year’s event will be the last to be held, owing to lack of sponsorship and the reduction of open shows.

Tickets are available priced £25 per person.
