Canine Concern celebrates 15 years

CANINE CONCERN Scotland Trust, currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, is delighted to report that it has been announced that its group of Therapet Volunteers in the Aberdeen area is to receive The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service by groups in the community.

Commenting, Marjorie Henley Price, chair of the trustees, said. ‘This is a wonderful and prestigious award. It recognises the tremendously valuable work that our volunteer owners, and their specially selected Therapets, do in Aberdeen and throughout Scotland. We have nearly 500 Therapets which are regularly visiting hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, sheltered housing, and other institutions where patients and residents are no longer able to have their own pets.

‘Pet therapy is rapidly becoming accepted, to the extent that we can never have enough volunteers and, of course, their very special pets. The Trust is always pleased to hear from interested potential volunteers.’
