Singapore SARS pet cull

SINGAPORE HAS followed China’s example as is instigating a cull of dogs and cats in the wake of the SARS virus infection.

Animal lover and campaigner Jenny Ong said: "The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore needs to receive as many e-mails of protest as possible over its present intensified culling of strays, especially cats due to the baseless notion and fear of SARS being transmitted by them, though no evidence of this has proven so far."

The petition to stop the cull may be found at: www.petitiononline.com/cwsasdhr/
