The maestro Charles Cruft would have loved it! This year the show recorded a new gate record of 128,998 over the four days. This compared with a previous record of 120,292 last year.
In the Foot & Mouth affected year of 2001 the show suffered a depressed total of 88,000 whilst in 1999 there were 117,000 visitors and 118,000 in 2000.
For the first time ever at the event all the car parks at the NEC were full and movement around the halls on the weekend days, particularly Saturday, was difficult.
